An Occasion for the Arts is delighted to have worked with the acclaimed Howell Creative Group of Williamsburg in the development of our new creative look. This colorful and charismatic logo you see on this website will identify AOFTA’s annual show, the first weekend in October – the anchor event of the city-wide Williamsburg Celebrates the Arts.
“We are thrilled that Howell Creative Group has, again, demonstrated their creative talent and generosity by developing and donating this fresh and fun image for our new expanded event!”, said Jane Medlin-Burton, Board President of An Occasion for the Arts. The new design will be prominently displayed on all advertising and merchandizing materials including the program cover, booth and information signs at the event itself and here on our website.
“As we transition to this new graphic look, we want to honor Carlton Abbott”, says Medlin-Burton. “He created our iconic red balloon logo 43 years ago for the very first Occasion. And he continues to be a part of this event as one of this year’s artists.”
At the meeting, Carlton Abbott shared stories from the first outdoor An Occasion (43 years ago) at a Friends Gathering to celebrate the new logo and two day show.
